Play cleanly. Better off pulling the right notes than stage theatrics.

DO NOT STAGE DIVE
you run the risk of totally owning yourself which is never good

Stage dive + guitar = pure fail.

If your playing lead; Don't screw around. If your playing rhythm and have the chords for the songs down, study Pete Townshend from the 1970's and Live Aid. Even then, I really think you shouldn't mess around and play right.

I have a live performance, my first one to be honest and I rather get the song right(I'm lead guitar) over screwing up by messing around.

I have to agree with everyone else, make sure you get it right first off. But have fun also, and try to look like you're bored as **** either haha.

But to answer you're question, jump around I guess haha. Seriously though...stage dives are gay, I would let you fall right on you're face lol.

as long as you move around a little bit you'll look fine/cool anyway...just maybe swing your guitar a bit, shake your head idk but don't just stand there...you don't needa look like a rock god to look cool. just don't be a scarecrow

Get into the groove and play clean as hell.

Any musicians in the audience will give you more props for that than twatting about with stupid stage moves and they're the people you want respect from at the end of the day.

Just tap your foot or bob around or whatever helps you stay in time.

Just feel it, it'l come naturally.

School of Rock just came to mind....fail. lol

EDIT: Jack Black owns. Tenacious D is made of win. Love the part where he learns about how all the great guitarists...well, became great! And it was a magical pick. >.>
