So my buddy and I were having a baseball debate. On the North side of Chicago a tradition was started where if you caught a Home Run ball hit by an opposing player, you are supposed to throw the ball back onto the playing field, in essence saying you don't want to bother with a ball hit by a non-Cub. This has spread to other ballparks (I've seen it happen in Milwaukee and here in Minneapolis, and I assume it's elsewhere too).

My buddy says that you should never throw a ball back, because it is a good piece of memorabilia, and could be worth money (i.e. in Minneapolis a fan rejected what is likely Ken Griffey Jr.'s last home run at the Metrodome in Game 163).

I think that throwing it back is okay, because it's just a baseball, and it's the story behind it that's the best part. If people believe you caught it and threw it back, they're equally likely to believe the baseball sitting in your room was actually hit by a specific player right?

TL;DR: Would you throw back a Home Run ball hit by an opposing player?

I wouldn't watch baseball alive. So no.
sometimes I see us in a cymbal splash or in the sound of a car crash
#3
No. I would go to a sports game instead.

I realize a lot of people here don't like baseball, hence the 3rd option...

The idea is would you throw it back GIVEN THAT YOU CAUGHT IT.

Loads of people in the bleachers at Wrigley bring a ball with them just in case they do catch an opposing player's homer so they can still throw a ball back while simultaneously keeping the real one.

Exactly my thoughts.

Nope, I'd be too busy watching a real sport instead of going to a baseball game to catch it.
On topic: yes I'd throw it back because it's the opposition. I wouldn't take an opposing player's footy shirt if they threw it into the crowd because I'm not their fan.
I hope it doesn't seem, like I'm young, foolish, and green.
Let me in for a minute, you're not my life but I want you in it

i probably would unless it had some significance behind it. if it was just some random home run by someone i wouldn't care about keeping it.

how much is 15,000 PHP? I didn't know they played guitar in the Phillipines. I thought they played ukelele or something.

Because, of course, we're too far away from places with guitars and all that stuff so we play ukelele...
