you seem to be in the same boat as i was.../am
i am not in a goth metal band but i like my guitar sounding really dark and goth-rock influenced...

the decimator is the way to go... has worked for me
i found that i ended up not even wanting an EQ pedal. i sold my MXR
and for OD i plan on getting a tubescreamer soon but just to tweak my solo tone ... i'm playin a mesa so i get what i want for rhythm =]

get a cheap marshall... my MG15DFX has a button that simulates the sound of one of the expensive tube marshall amps.

i can't get any BBE pedal where i live since my local shop just stop selling BBE Pedals. plus the green screamer doesn't sound good to me.

You do realize asking whether to get a TS808 or a GT-OD is like asking whether to get a Blues Junior or a Princeton, right? They're in two different price points. For the amount you're planning to spend, I wouldn't suggest getting either one. The Keeley TS9 would be a much better choice than the Ibanez TS808. If you want a more transparent, slightly softer overdrive than the Tubescreamer and its clones, then get a MI Audio Blues Pro.
Please don't assume I care enough about your guitar rig, your general thoughts on life, the funny things people have said about you, or anything else not related to the topic at hand to have the view signatures option turned on. I don't.

Holy sh*t. You have 1 pedalboard for each band? Man, is that really necessary?

Yes it is neccessary since both of have basically the same pedals but they are set up differently to get my different sounds.
since the main band is power/doom metal band that needs a little smoother gain for legato playing with screaming leads while the second is for the thrash metal band.
