I want to make a custom electric guitar with my dad. he has sanders, saws, clamps i hope and benches.

first of all, what would should I buy? Ash? Alder? Not mahogany, they say its to heavy.

I will be taking off the neck from my current guitar: right herererererer

and sanding off the word "yamaha" and maybe carving something or nothing,

here are my plans

BODY
whatever wood is suggested, double cut, like a jackson dinky or strat
string thru, Pick guard made from a sheet of stained maple (maybe),natural finish or glossy black

NECK
yamaha from my current electric, sand off the label, bolt on

PICKUPS
black ones from yamaha, eventually new nes, maybe emgs 81/85

BRIDGE
buy a stop bar tailpeice and attach it, string thru

CONTROL
2 volume (each pup) and one tone,
5 way selector

comments? this is my xmas gift from my dad basically.

anywhere where i can get full size plans for a strat?
thanks

p.s. those stickers are taken off and so are the frets.
Just call me Julius, J, etc.
Taking an Internet break for a while, will come on when I can.
