Pop punk is a sub genre of punk
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

Folk was in there
gospel is a cultural type of music and thats folk
isnt swing a subgenre of jazz?

adding polka
rock n roll is a type of rock
removing pop punk

The entire 90s movement is an important event in music history and i belive it deserves its own genre discussing it.

Oops, didn't see that folk was already in there.

Rock N' Roll was the boogie style music that influenced the new genre of rock music. It had its heyday in the 50s.

Also, add: Ambient
Baroque(i think it might be a type of classical, idk)
New Wave
Acoustic
Latin
Celtic
Disco
Comedy Music
Funk
Groove
Samba
Tango
Soul

Edit: Had to have those looked up, I'm bad with my music genres.

Shred is not really a genre. It's really a generic term for playing in a virtuosic manner at a high tempo. The music of most of these so called "Shred" guitarists can easily be put into one of the other established genres. In fact, it seems much of it would easily fall into the fusion or metal genres.

Shred as a verb means to play in a virtuoistic manner.
Shred as a noun would bethe genre?
I might rename it Shred/fusion since that would link it to jazz.

Please don't assume I care enough about your guitar rig, your general thoughts on life, the funny things people have said about you, or anything else not related to the topic at hand to have the view signatures option turned on. I don't.
