Quick question. First of all here is my current rig....

Mexican Fender Stratocaster
Fender Super Champ XD Amplifier
Boss DS-1
Boss CE-2

I am having trouble finding the awesome overdrive that is supposed to come with the tube amp. I've been playing for near a year now and have used my DS-1 for my distortion for mostly all of the time I've played.

My question is, will a Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer give me that tube amp overdrive that is supposedly the best you can get?
My Gear:
Fender Standard Stratocaster
Mesa/Boogie Nomad 45 1x12
Digitech Bad Monkey
BOSS CE-2 Chorus
ISP Decimator

first, tweak the amp. that distortion you name comes from overdriven tubes, so you gotta overdrive your amp. it's that simple. and EQ it. if you need more bite or a solo boost, you use the OD. if you really heat your amps distortion, use the DS-1

check that vid. not bacause you must get krank pedals, but because it explains some ways to use those pedals.

Wow thanks for the video man. Helped a lot. I'll still have play with my amp a little but I'm really considering picking up a Bad Monkey or Tube Screamer after that video.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
