okay so im signed up to do a battle of the bands at my school. but i dont have a band so im looking for good songs that sound okay with one person.

anybody know any good covers for a solo artist to be alone on piano. (not too advanced of a level, and also easy to sing while playing)

im into a lot of music
other artist on my set list are

dashboard confessional
secondhand serenade
augustana

and im also heavily influenced by people like Deathcab for cutie, matt nathanson, jason mraz. and that genre so if you guys had some suggestions that would be awesome.

You could try Three Cheers For Five Years by Mayday Parade?
And throw in something by Tim Minchin to spice it up a little

I forgot, any boston is nice too

If you can play acoustic and sing, I would say Tears in Heaven.

If you want to stick with piano, I would go with piano man or hallelujah.

Everybody who is a solo artist will go up there with an acoustic so do something different and go up with just your electric and do something like Glycerin by Bush or something. I think it'll make you stand out as a solo artist.

Umm am I seriously the first guy to reccomend Imagine? Its perfect. Its all piano and singing and its got a great melody and a moving message. If you can pull it off you should do pretty well.
