Recently I visited a store and checked the web. I was outraged by almost everything that allowed you to hook your guitar up to your computer and record it, it was SO expensive. I was stunned that you'd pay 40 dollars for a cord with one end usb...

So I came up with an alternative it is cheap, fast, and the qualitiy is ok, just fuzzy.

Get one of these

Stick it on one end of one of these

Now stick the end with the adapter in your guitar. Stick the normal end in the mic slot of your pc, your done

You can also put an adapter on each end and use as a cord from your Guitar to your amp.

^ Great idea, thanks but...

Your links suck.

Alternative: 1/4 inch female to 1/8 inch (headphone size) male, plug your guitar into it and then it into the PC microphone jack.

MInes not late at all. Even if it was, oh well, it record's the sound 100ms after I played it! As long as it sounds good, and I can save as an MP3 works for me.

most inputs on computers load a guitar pickup too much. without a preamp, it's a tone suck.

The only good way is with a usb interface. I use the US122 by tascam, it has direct monitoring for no latency and midi in out. Worth the $120 or so if you want hassle free recording.

That sucks.

I America or Canada all you need is decent grades, and signatures from your parents and your principal. Then you get a work permit and you're good to go.
