HI,

I'm going to get a new amp soon. I'm either going to get a VOXAC30 combo or a Fender Twin Reverb '65 Reissue. I have a Gretsch G5125 Electromatic. I play mainly indie and some punk. I plan on just getting a pedal for distortion so I mainly want a good clean out of the amp. Some bands that I would want to have a similar tone to are The Decemberists, Arcade Fire, and The Shins. Which one should i get?

EDIT: also i'll be using a mandolin through the amp, but the guitar is what is most important.

thanks in advance.

Ok, you're talking about two very different amps here.

the Fender is a lot cleaner than the Vox, and while the Vox sounds great clean, it's really more recognized for it's crunch and overdriven tone which is just plain awesome. But if you're really just looking to use a pedal, I can't really tell you which one to buy, they sound so different, you're going to have to just go try them both for yourself.
