Is it ironic for a mother to be looked after by her daughter?
Eg. borrowing money from her etc.

If not, what is a good word to describe that relationship, apart from role-reversal and synonyms of that.

A little. Eh. It's not sort of bitingly ironic. Role reversal and synonyms of that appears to be your best bet.

What's this for?

hmmmm
I'd say it was ironic if she once said to the daughter 'I'll always look after you!'
are you the daughter?

l2elaborate.

based on the somewhat cryptic question, i say no. a mother looks after the daughter, the the mother gets old and the daughter looks after her. or do you mean, before the mother gets old? also, has the mother some kind of desease or something that prevents her from taking care of herself? this thread needs some details.

in wich country does "borrowing money from her" equal "take care after her"? what do you think the word "ironic" means?
seriously.
