pretty much Not sure bugeras should be in the same list as ENGl powerball/fireball though.

My fav metalcore setup would prolly be a good (as opposed to the crappy ones) Gibson LP with EMGs or blackouts through an ENGL Powerball or Blackmore with a 4x12 vintage 30 cab.

If you listen to metalcore, you'll find out that 90% of those gitarists use Peavey 6505's. I've been to As Blood Runs Black, August Burns Red, Unearth and Parkway Drive concerts in the last month, and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them was using a 6505. The exception being As I Lay Dying with a Krank and a Mesa.

As for guitars: ESP eclipses are what's used most. Though I don't like them. If you want an LP shape, check out the Ibanez ART series. Nick Hipa plays them and I own one. They play great. Other than that: Jackson, Schecter, Washburn,...

Oh, and Drop-C.
gear:
-Ibanez ART 120 (w/EMG 81/85)
-Ibanez RG 1570
-Peavey 6505
-Tube-Town TTC 212V
-ISP Decimator G-String
-Maxon OD-9
-T-rex Fuel tank Junior

Since when? I rarely see bands using them.

Ibanez guitars are probably the most widely used for metal.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

In metalcore? Dude, hardly any of the 'big' bands uses Ibanez, although I don't understand why. Nearly all of them use ESP or LTD and the Eclipse seems to be the most popular model, and with a strat shape, the Horizon.

It's probably because ESP/LTD are far easier to score endorsement deals with, especially if you're in that scene.

Unearth, As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red and Bring Me The Horizon are pretty big metalcore acts playing Ibanez.

Yeah, but we both know we could name a tenfold of that using ESP guitars
Although I'm all for ibanez. But like Nolly said, ESP/LTD are probably a lot easier with endorsements.

As i lay dying use washburn and ESP dont they?

schecter blackjacks seem quite common around here for "metalcore"

edit: it always confuses me how the 5150/6505 does metal so well, when it was designed pretty much for hard rock/EVH tone
so awesome!
Top lel.

Eddie Van Halen uses a lot of gain, unlike many of his classic rock/metal counterparts. It's made for Van Halen, not for classic rock.

EMGs or most high output DiMarzios, probably in an ESP.
High output amp, almost always 6505.

i didnt say classic rock...
lol

i guess the high gain thing is true, but i always thought it was kinda funny ahaha

Eh. Classic rock, hard rock, same thing. I don't really know where one stops and the other starts :p
