hey so i got a gibson les paul this past summer and ive been noticing some issues with it not staying in tune. i can put it in perfect tune and play a few simple riffs or chords and the strings, mainly G, B, and e, are out of tune. also, i think that the intonation is really off because even when the strings are in tune, if i play a chord, D maj especially, it sounds off. Are there any ideas as to what the issue could be? can it be related to string gauge? i use D'addario XL .009 gauge. could a thicker gauge prevent the strings from slipping out of tune so easily? any comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

check the intonation. fret at the 12th, see if it's in tune there.

if not, then click the green link in my sig, first post explains.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.
