I was perusing the 'net looking for some instruments and obviously the market is dominated by Dean, Ibanez, Fender, Gibson, etc...

But what about those littler brands that have intersting shapes and whatnot?

Companies like Minarik or Abstract, or even Alembic.

Not necessarily unknown, but I feel that First Act and Fernandes both make some of the best guitars out there, but don't get enough respect.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Tad bit expensive though...Tad bit of an understatement.

Laney amps are a lot less prominent in the US do to the fact that we basically have to pay twice as much as you guys pay for one... you get a VC30 for like what 400 pounds? it's alot more over here.

Matamp are waaaaaaaaaay to un-known.

The Matamp GT-100 is the greatest amp of the 60s and 70s (yes i like it even better than the marshall plexi)

The Matamp GT1 is teh best amp of the modern era

So is a King Street

Electric Amp Innovations is also little known.
