Does anybody know of any popular musicians/pop artists that have been influenced by Death or Thrash metal bands? Thanks!

His parody vocals on Ace Ventura actually sounded like Lord Worm during the NSV era !

Then I want motherdicker back!

Anyway, yeah basically Lord Worm sucked on None So Vile, although he was tolerable on Once Was Not. But I don't hate him as much as that one guy on Winter Supremacy (I probably just butchered that).

I'd like to see him name one death metal band that isn't Cannibal Corpse.

Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins is apparently influenced by Bathory.

I read that, I don't think The Smashing Pumpkins have any black/thrash/viking influence.

Influence =/= sounds like.

I'm heavily influenced by Paul Masvidal, but I don't write songs that are jazzy and flambouyant, yet heavy and metuhl...

let alone good songs

Honestly if I tried to include all of my influences into one band it would end up being a pile of horse scat.

EDIT: And by scat I didn't mean Super Cool Awesome thing....

Cameron Diaz listens to Cannibal Corspe. I'm dead f-cking serious. That girl from Mythbusters and Dave Grohl listen to Venom.

Metal is a sub-genre of metalcore since metalcore is more popular therefore better.

No, but influence does mean to cause an effect on, I don't think Bathory has effected Billy Corgan's style of playing.

^I saw an episode where the mythbusters chick was wearing a Venom shirt, which I thought was pretty cool.

Sum 41 has some thrash influence mainly through Metallica.

Nickleback, even though i think its less of the thrash Metallica and more of the Black Album stuff.

Other than that I'm not too sure, not really into Death Metal
