Recently a teacher at my school has asked me and some friends to play something of our choosing at the next school wide assembly. We have only 3 weeks to learn it, but we are all moderately skilled. We want to play something that the majority of the crowd (school students aged 12-18) will recognize. Does UG have any suggestions of what should be played?

Thanks in advance

yeah ac/dc songs are perfect for a novice 2-guitar band. theyre not hard to learn but they sure rock hard. or anything else classic rock. everyone enjoys that, unless theyre... yeah i dont even know who doesn't like classic rock. that was the perfect suggestion.

welcome to the jungle always goes well (if you've got a good singer or an excited enough audience to sing over a bad one)

and yeah, AC/DC is also a great one

Or you guys could try to write something. It feels more rewarding and when you get compliments about it, def. feels better.

Check it out! If you do listen, ignore the bass playing on the songs. I recorded them when i was alot worse then i am now.

We Will Rock you, it's crazy easy to sing/play and gets the audience involved moreso than just sitting there and listening to you. Plus, the stomping pretty much covers the errors you may/may not make.
