here is my delima, anything i can use to boost the volume of my nylon string guitar when running through a PA? i hook both my Taylor and my Nylon string up to an a/b switch when running into a house PA, but the taylor gets some massive volume, but the nylon stringer i have to max the preamp volume and the soundguy claims the channel gain is maxed on the board, and yet it barely sounds even close to the volume i get with the steel stringer etc.

oh and the batteries in the preamp were fresh too

whats ur eq look like on ur onboard preamp?
probably not the problem but just curious...uhhh...
ur onboard probably just has really low output,
i think there are some outboard preamps out there that have signal boosters built in that you can just run your lead into, (if ur not using an xlr).

mostly i keep the EQ flat, maybe with a hair more of mids. also realised i had to crank the preamp volume on my Taylor to max too because he kept saying "i have the gain all the way up on the board and you are not coming through much. thats got to be something with the PA system. so ya im thinking DIBox with gain knob or something.
