i looked in the sticky, but didnt find anything to help.
well a few days ago i broke my high e.
i restrung it last night, and now it seems like the strings are looser (less tension)
and have a very veyr slight fret buzz.
I had DR 10's on before (i think)
and i put on d'ddarrio 10's.
how can i fix this?
i restrung it one string at a time.

First and foremost make sure your bridge is in the right position (not to high or too low. too low would probably cause the fret buzz). More than likely what happened was you had a thicker gauge string before and now your using thinner ones, thus lessing the tension on the bridge, thus lowering it down, thus causing the fret buzz. Also since theyre a lower gauge they are bound to feel looser (new strings always feel loose btw).

Anyways the best way to go about fixing it is to restring the whole thing so as not to have unbalanced tension on the bridge, that is if I'm right in assuming the new string is of a lower gauge, and then adjusting the springs in the back until the bridge is normal.

Sorry guys, but ive never even messes with a Floyd.
i looked at the bridge, and it seems a bit lower than the body, if that makes sence.
Like, a bit lower than where the top of the cavity is.
so, i just open the back and loosen the tension on the springs o get it parallel with the body?

you just have to re-calibrate the string Vs. Spring tension since the DR have thicker core wire than the D'Dario's so more tension from the DRs.

open the trem cavity (the rectangular back plate) and loosen the springs until the bridge is level with body, check the tuning, Repeat if necessary.

nce i losen the springs, wont that make the string tension even looser?
im in drop C
how do i keep the string tension a bit tighter and still be in drop C

Im actually not at home, so i cant mess with anything right now.
But i just thinking that once i loosen the springs in the back, the bridge will go back to parallel with the body, but the string tension will be even worse than it already is, cause' its already a bit looser than it was before i restrung.

FR's are floating bridges so the work on the Theory of String Tension Versus Spring Tension you have to calibrate both string tension and spring tension so that are equal to each other.

hmm i would say add a third or fourth spring the trem should helps a bit and high gauge strings should help as well.

alright, so possibly add a spring and loosen all the springs to get it parallel with the body.
