I've been looking around lately for an all tube combo amp for my budget, $300-$550. I have been playing for about 3 years, I use a gisbson faded sg, and I play mostly punk, pop-punk, and some metal. I really want to start a band and start gigging, and recording pretty soon, I just need to upgrade my amp first off. I found some really good deals on a mesa rocket 44, a marshall jcm2000, and a marshall dsl401 40w. I honestly don't know which would match what I am looking for best, any advice guys?

I have a friend that plays on a Mesa and my personal opinion of it is this...

MESA = FTW

Would you be willing to go used?

And must it be tube?

I've heard people on here constantly go on how b-52's fit around my taste in music, but I don't think I have ever seen anyone down where I live (south texas) use a b-52 at gigs or anything, then again I had never heard of b-52's until about a month ago. Maybe its just my location i dunno
