It is not avalable for me to try and these guitars as my local stores dont let me. I've held both and Ithey're both equally comftable. I play alot of metal and my main influences are 3 inches of blood, Korpiklaani, Arch Enemy, Gorgoroth. Please help me by comparing both and giving me good and bad points about each guitar as I have to buy very soon for the 25th

Later.

i'd take the DK2M over the DKMG just because of the pups although i hate maple fretboards.

I have a transparent black DKMG. I would give you more spec's but here's what will keep you interested

sounds perfect
plays perfect
one (1) chip on the back, invisible while playing (to both you and the audience)

And you won't be spending $770. Because it's only $550. PM if interested

Gilbert is a bad riff writer.

DK2M. And a couple of reasons are:
It has a hot bridge pickup, that does metal very, very well.
The neck pup is extremely smooth and great for shred/cleans.
Wonderful looking. (Kind of biased, I love maple fingerboards)
The trem is as close to an OFR as your going to get.
Black hardware on white looks awesome.
You won't have to change batteries. And you have better cleans
Also in the long run you will grow as a musician (hopefully) and get into other genres of playing, this guitar will suit them as well.

If you really want super high gain, EMGs would be better. But it would be a smarter decision to go with the DK2M.

I've played both but own the DK2M... both are really good.
But as above, dk2m is abit more versatile.

what do you think is better.. Jackson DKMG, DXMG, or DK2M?

Alright
The DKMG has a carved top alder body active EMG's (81/85) a Reverse Headstock and a rosewood fretboard with"piranha tooth" inlays (smaller sharktooth inlays).
The DK2M has a flat top alder body with passive Seymour Duncans (JB bridge/Jazz neck, I think), a maple fret board with black sharktooth inlays and a normal headstock with no black veneer.
The DXMG has Passive EMG's in a Basswood body, a rosewood fretboard with full size sharktooth inlays and a reverse headstock.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I've heard a lot of good things about the DKMG and DK2M, not so much for the DXMG. Hopefully I'll be able to check 'em out in store soon, but I just wanted to know what I was gettin' myself into hah.

Well, they're all MIJ. I kinda doubt they're bad quality.

Im quite suprised at the poll results. My local guitar shop is currently getting me a price as the last time I asked him he accidently gave me a price for the DXMG. It seems weird to change my mind now after wanting it for so lomg. Why are the EMGs so bad and why is the DKMG more expensive? If I got the DKMG, would it be nessacery to get the DK2M as a second guitar in the near future? Same applies in reverse, thanks guys.

The DXMG has lower quality wood trem and pups

u wont need any as a back up, people here make u think that EMGs cant do cleans, they can

well in my opinoin the dkmg is better cus of active pickups even though they will sound the same as a dxmg when the battery is out dkmg is of better quality and active emgs can do cleans

2 things.

1) A good set of passives do far better than actives IMO.
2) This thread is a few weeks old.

Well maybe but "DK2M vs DKMG" is what i saw:P also it wasnt me who bumped it

oh my bad
but its only considered a vs. thread if its like "boss or digitech?"
and theres no purpose for it, just out of boredom or stupidity if the TS didnt read the rules(that was me, and boss or digitech was one of my first threads )
