So Im planning to buy the Bass Driver DI but I have a question about this gadget, Can I get that overdriven tone that Geddy Lee has in the Rush in Rio Cd or a similar tone like Timmy C from RATM ?

thx in advance !

Its not quite like Geddy's tone in the Rush In Rio DVD or Timmy's, but you can get a pretty similar tone for sure. Best thing to do is just head down to a store that has one and play it. If they have your amp at the store already just bring your bass aswell so you can see how it will be with your own setup.

Geddy uses a SansAmp of some sort with a Jazz, so you can get a similar enough tone out of it, assuming you have the right bass to go along with it.

You will never get Timmy C's tone as per BPOTM.

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..

To be exact Geddy uses the Sansamp RBI which is the rack mount version of the Bass Driver. The RBI has a mid control which is nice, I wonder why they didn't include it in the Bass Driver.
