I bough a brand new roland microxube about 8 months ago when i got my first guitar. I rarely ever even turn it up half way, mostly play it with gain full on and volume at about 1/4 if it makes sense. I have a monster gold cable. Lately, the amp started to sound like crap, if I play a chord it sounds like the sound is "wavy" if you know what I mean as if I have tremelo-like effect on, but I don't.

Is it safe to assume its ****ed for good? I'm kinda pissed because I never abused the thing.

i did lower the strings a few weeks ago, would that make any difference? I have no idea what pickups I got, I have a stock ibanez sz720fm with some ibanez/duncan pickups.

Studies have shown that 92% of guitar players are close-minded. Copy this into your signature if you're part of the 8% who enjoy rap.

My Ibanez has actives in it. Yours are passive. I believe your strings could be a little too close and in turn you are getting that buzz and echo sound.
But, on another note, you really should try another guitar in the amp with a different cord all together. IMO
