Hey guys I just can not wait for Christmas to come! Im probably gonna get around $250 or so USD, and i wanted to get some pedals. I have a Peavey classic 30 (awesome amp!), and i play classic rock, modern rock, and blues, but I would also like to get into other genres like funk and maybe metal.

I'd like to get pedals like an EQ, and delay, but then I would also have to get extra cables for the fx loop, so I was thinking of just getting pedals that would go in front of the amp for now. Maybe a wah pedal and a distortion pedal? or could I just run an overdrive pedal on the dirty channel to get a distortion-pedal like sound? Any opinions?

A nice overdrive pedal and an EQ sounds pretty good for your rig.
