I'm "auditioning" for an industrial band, but I don't really know a whole lot about the genre. I'm supposed to come up with some stuff for a couple of songs this guy has written, and so far I'm completely lost.

There isn't a lot of structure, there are no well defined chord changes, and I don't know where the guitar is supposed to fit in an industrial setting.

Are there any guitarists out there that could give me advice on writing for industrial music? I'm starting from scratch here.

thanks.

playing by yourself is like masturbating, sure it feels great, but it's nothing compared to the real deal.

im not an industrial guitarist and have only ever listened to a little bit of industrial- but i would be trying to play wierd intervals and just repeatedly softly strum then with some strong trebley overdrive.

but i have very limited experience on the topic, so only listen to me if someone better suited agrees with me :P
