So ive had my peavey wolfgang EVH special (korean model) for roughly two years now
and i still love it every bit as much as the day i got it

however, i feel its time to maybe give it some new parts and such
firstly im going to ivnest in a schaller locking trem to replace the stock peavey one, then some new pickups.

Im really debating on pickups though
as much as i love the ones in it, i find them a little overly gainy at times and not too clear (ok my amps to blame for that too, but ive used it with different amps)
I was thinking maybe some kind of dimarzios?

I play kinda of modern metal music with kinda clean breaks. I also need pickups that are good for lead playing/cutting through a mix!

oh and my new amp is DEFINETLY coming first ahhaa
Cheers in advance!

If you want active Seymour Duncan Blackouts
Passive.. hmm. I have Bill Lawrences and they're very good for a very good price. DiMarzios are also an excellent choice.

nah id rather avoid active

i'd also like to get something that is like black/cream coloured
the guitar currently has them and ive seen one without it and thought it looked really stupid :/

Well You could always do passive Seymour Duncans, which are also a great choice. It really comes down to you trying each pickup out for yourself to see what you like.

Well Jackson has many guitars with SDs in them. Dimarzios will be harder.. You can go out on a limb and trust youtube videos.

i have tried a guitar with a super distortion dimarzio and it seemed pretty sweet

its hard finding the same pickups in the same wood as my guitar
