Hello everyone,

Christmas time is near and I would like to get a new.
Not for giging or anything for practice and recording maby some light giging.
The price has to be about 300$USD or lower. I"m not looking for a tube amp gut an amp with good sounds like for metal playing and a good clean for blues and stuff.

MG 30 marshall

Not good, terrible terrible terrible amp that sounds like a beehive in a trashcan.

Look at this:

Nice for metal especially, but does other stuff well, too. Check out Peavey Vypyrs and the Vox AD30VT as well. All good sounding, well built amps that cover a lot of different sounds.

EDIT: Ha, beaten to it again.

Intresting... I hear you need to play tube amps loud to get a good tone. Im not looking to play super loud and I don't really want a tube amp.

The only reason you'd NEED to play a tube amp loud to get a good tone is for tube breakup. Lots of amps don't need to be loud to sound good, just loud to sound great.

On your budget look at a Vox VT30. The AD series is being phased out and they're very good amps.

Tube amps sound best when playing loud, but they still sound good at low volumes. You don't necessariliy need to crank them.
However, you won't find a tube amp that suits your needs for 300 bucks. I think the modeling combos that have been suggested so far are a better option for you.

Maybe a Valve Junior.
