Okay, I've been having a lot of back problems recently and my doctor said that I may not be able to play guitar on stage any more because of the strain on my back ... this happens as soon as we start getting big in my local scene. So there must be way around this, what is the lightest guitar that sounds good for punk rock? and preferably is nice to look at? if it will let me carry on my career i dont care how much it costs but if its cheap that would be nice

Your band's getting big and you're still using a Spider III?

Get a Danelectro guitar. They're cheap and lighter than a 2 liter Pepsi.

you seem to like matte black... Schecter demon has thet color (i think it is a very cool looking guitar :liplick

so Schecter Demon might be good... though it may be too metal type guitar. anyway, i would like to get one, and when i tryed it, it seemed light.

STOP using les pauls, because them are the heaviest guitar type...

Depends on what they're made of.

I had an alder Tele and it was light as crap. My friend has a '76 Tele made of ash and it's heavy, heavy, heavy.

i like the danelectro idea, those are basically plywood so they're light as hell...but they don't sound too bad, as long as you don't get a dud. and they're cheap!

Why don't you just go onstage with a Steinberger and sit down like post living era Johnny Winter.

My Tele still weighed around 6-7 pounds. You might want to ask your doctor what the weight limit is.

Nothing more Punk than this.

They weigh nothing as well. they're made of some sort of composite.

Epi or Gibson SG's are very light (imo). I usually don't look at the weight of a guitar, but when i got my SG Faded, it was really really light.

Parker

If you can afford a Parker, I'd recommend it.

Several of my father's friends have back problems after playing Les Pauls on stage for years, now they're all using Parkers.

They play great, they sound great and they're feather light.
My name is Tom, feel free to use it.

Some Ibanez S series guitar? I don't know how well they are with punk, but I know they're really light. All of my friends who've played mine say it's like a toy compared to their guitars.
This is our last chance.

gibson sgs or epi sgs are the way to go
although if you wait long enough gibson will get so radical on the chambering
in les pauls they'll be lighter than sgs
