Possibly looking into getting an amp in the near future. I currently have a Line 6 SpIII, and at some point would lke to upgrade.

Doesn't matter what price, would like it to be under 1000, and also what's a good distortion pedal for metal and alt, again, price really doesnt matter for the pedal.

you definetly wanna go combo?

alright that makes it easier,

check out a used mesa F series maybe? 6505 combo?
tube or SS?

if you get these amps you wont need a dist. pedal

Sry, phrased it wrong. What amp would be good for metal and what dist. pedal would go well with it. I know there are a crapload of dist. pedals but i no nothing about them
#4
well f you wanted to get a good metal amp, you wouldnt need nor want more distortion IMO
anyone agree?
maybe an overdrive, in that case ibanez tube screamer would be pretty good

I really can't atm. Im doing hw and i was looking at guitars yesterday, not amps. I only had a half hour. I just would like some opinions thats all.
#11
well
do you want tube or solid state?
the vox AD series is a pretty good solid state, one of the best in my opinion
tube, your probably going to have to go used being that they are GENERALLY more expensive,

do you gig?

Ok good, because i wanna actually use pedals, cause some friends told me pedals would sound horrible with my amp.

Thanks.
#20
yeah they would, without a doubt

i have the same amp and it just sits in my room, it sucks pretty hard.

Its my only amp, and i use it for practice and some stuff in my school and i agree. The only things i like about it is that it has a tuner and the slipknot preset kicks ass.

Other than that, i dont like it too much. i wanna be able to use some pedals.
#22
honestly dude? go out and buy a tuning pedal, if you get ur note perfect on that l6 tuner, put some gain on and hit a harmonic, your string is still way out of tune

sorry, that has always aggrivated me haha
yeah pedals make life more fun xD

but i run midi so i only have one big pedal(s)

For the amp, check this out. I've heard it's great for all styles, especially metal.

And as for the pedal, i've only heard good things about this pedal.

if he bought a mesa or even that bugera a boss mt-2 would be the cheapest and worst way of getting a bad tone. have you ever played one?
