I am planning on using audacity to record my band and i have 2 questions. will audacity give me good quality recordings? and is there something i can download to get a radio effect? thanks a ton

It's not the software you should worry about to get you good recording quality... for now.

What you need to worry about for now is a good mixer with decent mics and everything.
