Ok so yeah i bought this piece of crap spider III 120W....i want to get something better, much better, sooo

question 1 : the amp still has the warranty (it is 1 year, and 6 months have passed) so can i go over and say "em yeah i didnt like this amp so i want to return it and buy something else" ? ( i did that with a pedal, the differnece was that it was like 3 weeks after i bought it)

question 2 : if i can't return it, i will like to sell/trade it...so if i sell it will they (GC) directly buy it or they'll put it in the store for costumers to come and buy it and charge a comission? and do they trade stuff...if so, how does it works??

you might get store credit or something for it, but if it is within warranty, you should be fine

Once you buy the amp your stuck with it unless they have a return policy which even if they did i am sure you have exceeded it...if you trade it in you are likely to get barely anything for it..considering its a crap amplifier and most places give you nothing for trade ins...your best bet is to stick with it and try and get a good sound out of it with a pedal or something until you can save up for a better amplifier

if you can, sell it on craigslist. GC will probably give you less money than you can get selling it yourself.

You can only return things to them within 30 days I think

Warranty and return policy are not the same thing.

If you don't want it you can use the warranty. It depends on the brand but with my Dean a knob wasn't working so I decided to use the warranty, but they didn't require me to ship the Dean to them they just gave me $80 in guitar center credit (price of guitar without a warranty) so I just used that and bought a case and a cable. I still have my dean sitting here. You'll have to see if Line 6 makes you ship it to them, but since it's an amp, and it cost over $100 (unlike mine) they'll probably have you ship it. But it isn't hard trying it out.

Oh and for me it just now basically means that I have no warranty on my guitar.

Last time I tried to do a trade at a GC they said "Check out how much they are going for on ebay and we can offer you half that."

So they wont give you much. Better to sell it on your own to someone.

they will give you (for a guitar) half of what they will sell it for. much better but slower to sell it on craigslist

Guitar Center is not going to give him the full price of what the amp is worth if there's nothing wrong with it. Even if there was something wrong, they'd send it to Line 6 and have it fixed under the warranty.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

^^ They told us to contact the company. The company just sent us how much the guitar is minus the lifetime warranty ($80) and I used that on something else. It wouldn't work with amps though, I don't think.

You aren't getting your money back. Just do like a previous poster said and sell it on Craigslist.

A warranty covers your product for defects. Not if you no longer like it. Or if you break it yourself. And generally, they won't give you a refund, rather they will repair or replace.

Sell it yourself, trade-ins at chain stores are always rip-offs. I remember I once traded in my N64 Pokemon Stadium game at Gamestation for £18, and they were selling it second hand for just under £50.

normally a shops return with full refund policy is 28 days so ur out of luck there, but i rekon they will take it off of you for like 1/3 or 1/2 the origional price
