how do you brush down on a guitar?
it says to brush down here;
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/j/jerryc/canon_rock_tab.htm

and at the end of the whole tab i got lost in the list of techniques. can anyone explain some if not all. Most of them are not in the stickied post so i didn't bother to check which is on the list and which is not because it is easier for replies to explain.

I'd just ignore the brushing thing, it doesn't add to the track at all. If you watch the video it's at about 14/15 seconds in where the strings are muted and he very lightly brushes the plectrum across the strings.

As for the other symbols, please say which ones you're unsure about because that's a heck of a list to go through.

Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullsh*t in order to be comfortable?

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.
