ok, so i have a bunch of icons on my desktop. Say i move a picture folder or a music file to a different folder or program, typically the icon or folder moves to that new location. well, the folders contents and the files move to their new location but leave behind the icon. I cant click on the icon, highlight it, nothing. a reboot does nothing and refreshing the desktop does nothing. in other words they are just duplicate icons that sit on my desktop and i cant do anything with them? can someone please help?

Do you have someone else using the computer?
they could've print screened and put it as the background.
Try changing the background.

does the icon on your desktop have a little arrow in the bottom corner? If so, its just a shortcut, a swift "Rightclick-delete" aught to do the trick.
