ok so when i use the rock band microphone to record onto my computer (using mixcraft) it speeds everything way up so i sound like an alvin and the chipmunks guitar virtouso. even though this sometimes kinda cool and funny i want to figure out how to make it normal. can someone help me with this?
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that it isn't the mic. It sounds like a sample rate thing. If you record at one sample rate and play it back at another, the speed will change. So, anything recorded at, say, 96khz, and played back at 48 khz will come out sounding twice as fast.

So, go into mixcraft and see what sample rate you are recording at. Change it to 44.1khz if that is one of your options. (I can't imagine it NOT being one of your options.)

Could I get some more talent in the monitors, please?

I know it sounds crazy, but try to learn to inhale your voice. www.thebelcantotechnique.com
