ergh here we go again for the 67456329832 times. no wonder all the regulars are sick of spider and mg apparently that's all the new comers talks about. i think there should be a warning sign saying DO NOT POST SPIDER QUESTIONS OR MG. right before the post thread button.

im not a new comer...this is just the first time ive thought about getting a new amp an those are the amps within my price range.

But only a newcomer would ask whether the Spider or MG is better

Are you buying an amp? What is your exact budget?

Thats not much of a choice. Neither is any good and both are overpriced for what you get and both are unreliable in the long term. If you arent gigging you dont need 75 or 100 watts. Get something smaller so your budget will get you more of an amp.

for the last 3 years ive been playing a nameless practise amp using the zoom g1 multi effects pedal
i play metal, hard rock, rock, classic rock, acoustic stuff, classical
and my budget is around £200-240 new

are those music genres listed in order of how much you play of each?
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
