Flamed Sycamore? Sounds like something Ibanez would do.

If it isn't solid wood, and I suspect it isn't, it's probably not worth the money it would cost.

Yes it is. It's an Ibanez AEG20E, my dad ordered it, and.. I don't want to hurt his feelings by saying it may be a **** guitar

It's probably sound like any other laminate guitar. While it may not be the best guitar, it's still an improvement from nothing. Besides, it's a present as well. You should be happy to get it regardless of how good it is. It's not always about getting the best things in life.

Yes, I know, and I'm completely estatic with it. I'm just asking because my dad hinted returning it because of the ****ty service they gave.
