I just bought this fretless bass but I have no idea what it is.
I know I shouldn't have bought it but it was really cheap and I've wanted a fretless for awhile. It seems pretty good in terms of tonal quality and looks. It also came with a fresh set of strings on it. But does anyone know what a JR Beck bass is or have any experience with it?

I don't have a JR Beck bass but I have one of his guitars.

It was a privately own business in Texas that made custom replicas of original designs by a guy named JR Beck. Company went out of business couple years back.

Anyways, I've never had any problems with my guitar or gear on it. Pretty quality stuff for what it's worth. All I did was replace the pickups.

So as long as you didn't get ripped off, then you should be fine.

Haha, I live in Texas so that may have contributed to why it was so cheap. I only paid $100 for it and the tone is amazing. But I don't know what pickups are on it, and I have no idea what the knobs do...

Okay, give me a few minutes...or a day.
Should I take off these roundwound strings?
b/c I already have marks from playing on the fretboard...
