Can you recommend me a good mic that would be good to use for singing during band practice, and also for recording on an 8 track recorder for guitar and drums and such. Try to keep it as cheap as possible, well under $100. Doesnt have to be that great, just something versatile.

although they're not fantastic, nady sp-5 mics are 3 for $25. i use them for drum mic'ing and amp mic'ing and it sounds okay.

Try to find a used SM58, ebay should have plenty for less than $100

I'd expect to pay that for a half decent cable leave alone a stand and mic as well. It's going to sound like some kind of toy.

if you get a 58, it will sound excellent and last you a lifetime. That mic may last you a year.

i wasn't sure if he meant "well, under a hundred dollars" or "way under a hundred dollars."

I'm going to add yet another suggestion to the used sm58 idea. I've seen them go for $50 on craigslist around here a few times. And you don't have to worry to much about buying a used product when one if its defining features is that it's one of the most durable pieces of gear ever.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me
