If windows doesn't run why do you need to get rid of them so bad?

that makes no sense.

You cant delete things from the command prompt if you cannot get to the command prompt....unless you are referring to booting off a DOS disk, OR in Windows Repair mode....

Then why do they need to be deleted?

Maybe they have viruses or something? I dunno.

And he's talking about the MSDOS command prompt or whatever. I don't know how to enter it at start-up though.

That does not make sense.\

MSDOS command prompt is a feature in windows similar to the console in Mac or Linux.... it just gives you a basic mode of the actual operating system.

If you have the windows CD and are in repair mode, then try and locate the files

cd c:\
cd documents and settings
dir | more

***locate files***

del *.mov
del *.wmv

etc etc etc.....

i believe you mean "it seems that, from conclusions drawn while reading this thread, that the TS may have downloading pornographic videos which contained, not only the known content, but also a mix of malicious trojan software, which had the intent to disperse a computer virus onto his computer"

and i totally agree.

Meh, that's how it worked on Windows 98. Maybe it's not called MSDOS command prompt. But I know it looks something like:

C:\ (type **** here)

C:\ does ****

For instance, you can write:

> format C:

or something to that effect, and it'll reformat the C drive. Isn't that what we're talking about here? Ah whatever...

do you recall where your files were downloading to?

if you have a general idea....

cd to the location

dir | more

and then del *.ext for each extension..... im guessing AVI

it could look something like this

cd C:\
cd Documents and Settings
cd John
cd Downloads

OR

cd c:\documents and settings\john\downloads
dir | more

del *.avi
