I have a guitar that Ive pieced together out of two different guitars and now i'm looking to use it for recording and playing live with my band.

I play a more experimental/Progressive type of metal so I'm looking for some pickups that can be heavy and still have crystal clear cleans.

The body of the guitar is a Stratocaster shape with Stratocaster style pickups.

I am willing to pay however much it will take.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks much!

Check out Kinman pick-ups, they tend to have a very modern sound for strat-style single coils.

Ok from personal experience and the fact that I love this pickup I will recommend the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop '78. Rolling back on volume it cleans up beautifully, has tons of clarity even under distortion (never gets muddy) and its got balls when cranked.

Edit:

Hmm didn't see you need single coils....umm route it for a humbucker!!!
