What do you mean there are a lot of strings that won't tune? Which ones?

Find someone who knows how to play a guitar and have them show you. There are plenty of people on youtube who will be willing to help.

tune to the sound i m making now:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

that was the lower e from there on you can tune the rest as well

Google guitar tuner, and it will come up something that will play the tone of the strings. Tune as close as you can then fine tune by playing diff. songs.

WOW, it's called tuning by ear... right now, buy an electric tuner... use that for awhile, and learn what the right tunings sound like, and you'll never need a tuner ever again.
I has sigs

If Dimebag can't take a few bullets to the head how's he gonna be able to take a full on Kamehameha?

Take the strings off that won't stay in tune.

Then, you will be left with strings that do stay in tune.

Problem solved.

Listen up kiddies, this isn't the pit. We try to keep it a bit more refined in here, so if you intend on posting garbage, go to where it's welcome, which is NOT in here. Thank you. That is all.

We welcome jokes in here, but take your spam back to the pit. It's not funny.

Ok, apparently my response above was enough to get a threat of permanent banishment.
So, in order to do my best mea culpa, try this:
It's either your strings are stretching, or your tuners aren't holding.
It sounds like this might be your first time. A common mistake for "Newbies" is to put too many windings around the tuning post, especially with electric guitars.
Or, if it's classical, not taking an extra half loop on the nylon strings.
Either way, PM me if you want, and I can give you more instructions.

You have to tell us why the strings won't tune... is it too tight, or are you tuning the wrong peg? I know the first time I tuned a guitar I tuned the wrong peg and ended up having the D string leave a scar on my face.

I issued a warning for spam for what was posted earlier(not permanent banishment, lol). It was starting to get a bit spammy. I will be taking it off though since I'm giving another member a second chance as well.
