So, Christmas is coming up and im thinking it would be wise to maybe swap my obsolete line 6 spider iii 15w for something a bit better...

im looking for a tube amp because i like tube amps, preferably a combo as they are cheaper.

i play some clean stuff and alot of death metal, so i would like a decent clean tone with the ability to create some massive distortion as well.

i was looking at the Randall RG-50 tube combo and it looked pretty good, anybody have any other suggestions or would you recommend the randall?

thanks!

People are gonna recommend the Randall, almost hands down. I don't own THAT Randall, but I know and trust their amps
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

The RG50TC is great. Also be sure to look at the B-52 AT-112.

If you go used you could probably pick up a 5150 which would be better than both, but that's also depending on your full budget.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

thanks for all the help guys.

i did like the Bugera alot but i think its a bit out of my price range and perhaps a bit loud at 120w.

i think i'll go for the Randall then

This, the distortion is br00t4l. Its just as good as Bugera, except it doesnt break down after two days. Its built like a tank, why do you think they call there brand B-52???

Edit: The Randall's cleans sucks, the B-52's are Fender-esque and immaculate. Go B-52, trust me, I was going to get the RG-50TC, but chose the B-52.

Yeah I feel for you man. Many companies don't like shipping to other countries.

Although you can get laney's, marshalls, vox's and heck even engl and diezels for cheaper than us in the US

Try a peavey valveking. You can get a head and cab for about under 800 easy just shop around. Or they have a 212 combo running about 500. That's euro though. I'd imagine its much the same in dollars.
