Well, yeah, it's a pretty cool song, but what does it have to do with Christmas?

Well, this is the best they have, since the newest and latest rap hit isn't on their set list.

and if your good enough Canon rock, and if you're not, just canon transcribed to eletric guitar
Poop.

Yes, poop.

The best thing would be to start playing a popular Christmas song....

Then outta nowhere turn or your distortion and play heavy metal remakes of Christmas songs!

I agree with this in theory, but in practice there's no way in hell that would work with just guitar and bass.

yeah the TSO could work, some wizards in winter would be badass, and even the parents might recognize it

Just dont play "If i could fly"

We all know where that could end up.

Me and my friend decided to do the song because the choirs have most of the christmas songs and the music teacher wanted us to preform so she said pick any song you want so we picked a song thats fun to play and pretty emotional for christmas.

Personally, I would have gone with a version of Greensleeves or Carol of the Bells, but there's nothing wrong with that selection.

Any song you want, eh? Might I suggest:

Elephant Man/Joseph Merrick/Pendulous Skin by Mastodon.

Those are quite emotional...and amazing....

Alright, in the interest of offering TS some actual ideas, why not come up with some kind of christmas medly of different songs and do it with kind of a clean Eric Johnson-style distortion and lots of soloey-type stuff. Do em to a drum machine or a drummer and get a decent rock tempo around 120 or so and have fun with em. You guys get to do somthing origonal and show off a bit while keeping with the christmas theme and keeping the audience entertained.

TSO's Christmas Canon would be good, not too difficult but if you don't have someone that can sing it'll just flop.

The only thing is apparently High School kids think you suck it you play acoustic.

Last year some emo kid got up there and played some horrible random song I can't even remember the name but he his tone was almost as horrible as his playing

But then someone got up there and played a very nice classical piece.

the Electric got 2nd and the classical didn't even place.

Nothing wrong with it I just don't think it really fits into the talent show. Even though it does take quite a bit more talent to play it.
