I have been playing for about 2 to 3 yrs now and im looking into figuring out song by ear. But my ear aren’t develop enough, some time I can catch an A chord or a D chord here and there but that’s it all.

How can I develop my ears? Any easy song that would help me build up my ears?

I started tuning my guitar with a pitch fork and its challenging but im not giving up since some one toll me it would help.

Guitar : Fender CIJ Mustang and a Telecaster
Amp : 76 fender champ
Pedals : BBE green screamer, Big muff, Ibanez LU20 Pedal Tuner, boss loop pedal

ive msotly learnt just by listening to a track, and following one instrument throughout, such as gutiar, drums, bass etc. And from that and actually learning the song on guitar, you slowly build up your ears etc. It takes some time, but with all things musical, it tends to.

The only way is to practice figuring out songs by ear.
Im afraid thats the only way.

Like many people have said before me is that it will be hard at first but eventually youll start knowing whats happening

now when you say "My ears aren't developed enough" do you mean you want Prefect Picth?

most people will say give that up people either have it or not

but i disagree and ive been doing my own Ear training

if you know some basic theory that will help alot too
then you have "Relative Pitch"

meaning when you hear a chord being played and theres a note thats creating tension, you can tell it dosnt sound right(i know people are going to comment saying thats not true some chords that sound wrong actually sound good but thats another big subject right now he needs to develop the basics)

for my ear training i some times have a friend or my teacher play Triads

and i have to identify them from just listening
we do this by being in a room completly silent no distractions
i face away or close my eyes

and i identify them if its major, minor, diminished or augmented

can you tell the diffrence in a Major Second and a Major Third?

or a Prefect 4th and a Prefect 5th?

can you tell if its an Octave?

this was my basic ear training i started on my own

i could aways hear the diffrence but not enough to where when i would hear some one play a chord i could acutally listen and with in a few seconds i could hear that its a major 6

you'll be amazed when you spend at lest 30 minutes a day practicing this and then listen to a song and you'll say "hey i hear a minor6!" or "thats a Augmented chord!"

that was like a 2 years ago when i started
im working on perfect pitch currently and its pretty hard
i can tune my guitar with out a tuner
just being able to hear that low A and E in my head i can tune any guitar
but octaves are a little bit tricky you could play an like a Db and to me it would sound like Eb or D

i found a program a few months ago i tryed the demo it pretty did some of the stuff i did but alot more stuff i didnt even think about anyway i bought it and its really good

http://www.earmaster.com/

try the demo im sure it will help you and if its working for you then buy it
and before you know it you will be one dangerous dude
not only you would have good Music theory(if you know it or are taken it if not i suggest you get started it will open up doors)
but you will have a very Sharp Ear
and next time you have an idea in your head you can pretty much play it out
with out having to guess what key its in and all that

(sorry for my typoness im tired as hell)
