well, I found a seller online that says they're selling a Traben Array AS5QS, I checked on Traben's site, couldn't find that model anywhere, and when I Googled the name, my only results were that same sellers page:

http://cgi.ebay.com/TRABEN-Array-AS5QS-5-string-BASS-guitar-NEW-Custom-BAG_W0QQitemZ110314229360QQcategoryZ4713QQcmdZViewItem

I checked out "Dean Johnson's Music" and it is listed as an official Traben dealer of their site, but maybe the seller is lying?

I want a Traben, but I don't want a fake.

I doubt it's a fake, but if you have a doubt it's much better to look elsewhere than to take a chance. Plus you can probably find the same bass for much cheaper somewhere else anyways.
Look used, look in local shops.
I usually don't suggest Musician's Friend, but hell, it's significantly cheaper than that ebay auction:

you could e-mail traben and ask if it's real. it's very possible it's a discontinued model the store still has in stock.

You could also ask what the old list price was(if not the street price) to see what you should be paying for it.

I have the same bass. They stopped making it I think. It was already discontinued when I bought it. But if they are selling it go for it. It's an amazing instrument!
My main influence is Steve Harris, followed by Steve DiGiorgio

John Cooper from Skillet plays Traben. I am almost* positive it's the Array, but do not quote me. I really want one, too. But, a 5 string Thumb comes first. Ryan Martinie, I will own you someday! (cries in corner)

^ I saw them live a while back...he had a Pheonix. Same body as the Array and Neo. Sounded good when he was actually playing it. XD
