Ok Im looking into getting a Custom Handcrafted BC Rich, but im stumped on what kind of designs i should use such as what kind of inlays, paint job, type of wood, fingerboard, weather to use bolt on or neckthrough, and so on so forth. I play heavy metal, death metal stuff like slayer, slipknot, metallica(1980-1987), Six Feet Under. Any ideas?

Honestly man, dont buy a custom from a big company they rip you off badly. Go with smaller local luthiers, look into people like Mike Sherman etc..

If you're going to get a custom guitar, you should at least sit down with a lot of different guitars and figure out what you like about them, and try brainstorming your own preferences into a design you're going to fit personally. Other people can't tell you what you like in an instrument.

Well they are not cheap but if you have the dough go for it, all the BC Rich handcrafted guitars I have been lucky enough to get my hands on were fantastic guitars. If your looking for a radical design look into a Monson they are decently priced for a hand made guitar and IMHO some of the most radical designs I have ever come across.

Checkout Bernie Rico JR Guitars too I have also been lucky to try some of those out as well.
Another guitar I really like is the Rockingbird from Ed Roman.
