Just installed Norton 360, since my last years subscription has just run out. It seems that my laptop is now taking about 7 or 8 times longer to load web pages, and that I am now running at almost 90% RAM used!

I am also having issues with it treating me as a 5 year old. I am aware that I am turning off the firewall thanks, so I dont need to be told, and then reminded every two minutes!

And it wont let me use my ipod as a remote for iTunes.

Is anyone else having problems with this memory *****, or is it just me?

Dammit Kensai, I wanted to say that...

Try to uninstall Norton, then install Avast!

Norton is the worst thing you can do to a PC

AVG
Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I've ever known.

I'm running Avast! and peerguardian 2. Give both a try, I never have any problems with viruses/unauthorized conncetions and speed/ram troubles.

Not only is it better, but it has a Pirate name too.

I don't see what the fuss is about un-installing Norton either.
It was relatively simple when I did it.

Seems like it should be easy enough. Just a bit reluctant to throw away a years susbscription, I'm sure you'll understand the reluctance of a student to throw money down the drain like that!

Anyway, Avast seems like it will suit my needs perfectly. Is the free home edition usable? or will I get endless adverts and pop-ups suggesting I upgrade to the paid for version?

What the f**k is you problems?
Yes, I made an account to ask this question. Is it really that weird? No. I wanted some feedback from some proper guitar experts who knew what they were talking about. Sorry, I guess I was wrong.

Can't you get a refund? Tell them your computer is being malfunctional with it installed or something. Or give it away to your worst enemy.

Avast won't give you ads or popups.

The Home Edition doesn't bug you to upgrade at all. It's wonderful.

Its understandable, but it really is less use than a chocolate fireguard.

I've not had any adverts or pop-ups from it yet. Well other than the blue box in the corner telling me it's upto date.
Doo eet.

Well, you've convinced me. I'm gonna bite the bullet, and switch.

Not sure about getting a refund. Might give that a try, but the shops a real bugger to get to without a car. I dont have a car, so can't get there easily!

Will report back shortly...
