i have an ibanez rg2550z with the h-s-h config, and im looking for a more hard rock/ metal tone. It is a basswood body and im looking ofr passive pups not active. i was thinking of getting a Dimarzio X2N in the bridge, a Dimarzio chopper in the middle and a Dimarzio D-activator X in the neck. I have decided on Dimarzio pick ups as they are just made for ibanez. So i was wondering if this would be a good set up?

Ive heard the D activators are lacking and they give a very sterile tone. Personally I love my dimarzio Evo in the neck, and check out the D sonic for the bridge.
Whats the longest word?

well it's a basswood body...

but...X2N for hard rock?
hmm....X2N is muddy...you like Tom DeLonge's sound from his early albums?
I doubt...
For metal it would do.

what would you recommend for a single pick up in the middle of the humbuckers?

you don't need that for hard rock or metal.

what do you mean, "just made for ibanez"?

you can buy any pup you want, and that includes Dimarzios but also Seymour Duncans and BKN (because someone will suggest them)

edit: oh, and EMGs. specially if you like metal.
