I have to compare it to anarchism and socialism, which i did but my teacher wants me to give good examples of it in the late 20th century. All I could think of is the Soviet Union and the cold war, but thats dealing more with a war than with actual Marxism. Any ideas?

The pit is NOT the place to ask about these sorts of things..

Yeah this isn't a good place to ask this

However, you can talk about the resurgence of Anarchism at the end of the 20thC start of the 21stC with the rise of the anti-globalisation movement.

Nobody in the pit knows anything.

Except in the drug thread, ironically. You have quite a bit of chemistry and making stuff at home there.

ok, basically in a nutshell, there is no perfectly functioning communist country in the world today, or ever in history. China is on the path towards communism and russia is corrupt with the oligarchs and doesn't have a communist government. bascially there are no examples then

No, China turned state capitalist thru a long process starting after the death of Mao, and speeding up after the Tiananmen Sq massacre in 1989.

You could talk about the Social-democratic parties like the Parti Socialiste in France which call themselves socialist, and Far-left parties like the Communist Party of Great Britain(ML) which call themselves Marxist.

Talk about how most social-democratic parties, like the british Labour Party started out which strong Marxist tendencies but abandoned them in the late 1980's.

Hope that helps, if you want more info, come to the group in my sig and ask someone there.

Dude, look at Mao Zedong, his involvement with the Chinese Communist Party and his Cultural Revolution of 1966-1976. more specifically, look at his political opinion - sometimes known as Mao Zedong Thought.

That should be a good example.
