An awesome band. Sort of similar to Protest the Hero.
They're like Progressive Metal mixed with punk rock and hardcore so they take a lot of influence from bands like Strung Out too. Kickass melodic but heavy technical songs with a lot of tapping and some sweeping thrown in. the singer's voice is wonderful and his screaming is pretty tight too. They're one of my favorite bands and I really think everyone should check them out.

They currently have an EP out called "The End of the Beginning" released some time ago and soon they will release their first epic full length album "Tale of the Complex Circuit" and it will blow the ep away by far and the ep is kickass to begin with so that's saying something. you can hear all six songs from "The End of the Beginning" in full here:
http://www.last.fm/music/The+Syncope+Threshold

and you can listen to two new songs(demo versions) from "Tale of the Complex Circuit" on their myspace page and see studio videos in their blog with absolutely kickass song clips in them

protest the hero is a close comparison, the singer sounds more like the guy from coheed and cambria
