Ive got a 100 dollar budget (i can go a little higher if need be). I cant afford good studio monitors yet so im holding off on that (i dont want cheap ones). So yea im looking for a good pair to record and stuff.

280 if you are recording with a microphone, since sound won't leak out. 515 if you are listening to your stuff as it's more clear.

I suggest the Grado Lab SR80s if you are not planning on tracking next to a mic.
If you are, the Senn HD280 Pros are great.

The Grados sound a little better to my ear and are very light weight.
