Yeah since i love japanese stuff so much and plan on visiting/living in Japan one day, I wanna get a heads start on learning the language.
Any good beginner programs I could download?

I'd sugest being tutored in it, there are a lot of different sounds and pronunciations of things that you need to learn and I doubt a programme will teach you that very efficiantly.

Edit: Also as Ichikurosaki said anime can help slightly.

watching a varity of anime with good subs is a good start.
surprisingly its easy to pick up alot of basic phrases this way.

That's not true, because the translations are literal translation. If you were to repeat a sentence you heard in an anime back to a japanese person, they'd be really confused. It's because the sentence structures are all jumbled around.

Okay okay, calm down. If you want to look at it like that then its a better start then nothing. But you'll learn far more from classes then anything else.

Take classes. No program can properly teach you how to learn a language.

Pimsluer and Rosetta stone are far superior to any community college class.
